started off with the precedent studies of peabody terrace by sert, jackson & gourley, illustrating the dialogue between housing and community, and community with the society.  with the additional public program as a library, it provides the opportunity for the interface of dialogue to appear at the building's footprint and the library roof as a continuum of ground plan.
